Nigerian gospel singer Chidinma Ekile has opened up about a harrowing spiritual experience during a 40-day period of isolation, fasting, and prayer, where she claims the devil urged her to take her own life.

The former Project Fame winner revealed that she underwent an intense spiritual journey seeking divine direction, which involved spending nights outdoors in prayer and worship.

During this period of spiritual retreat, Chidinma recounted a particularly disturbing encounter where she found herself at the edge of a cliff in darkness, hearing a compelling voice urging her to jump.

"The enemy came to me to take me out of there before my time. The devil took me to the top of a cliff at night where everywhere was dark. And right there, He asked me to jump. The voice was so strong," she revealed.

However, the singer testified that divine intervention prevented what could have been a fatal act. "When I was about to jump, I noticed that I was barricaded and it was impossible to jump. Something was just there," she explained.

Chidinma described her entire 40-day experience as transformative, comparing it to a divine surgical procedure. "It was more like I was in a theatre and God performed surgery on me and He shredded me. I have seen it all, and material things don't move me anymore," she said.

The gospel artist characterized the journey as one of emotional upheaval and fervent prayer that brought an unprecedented awareness of God's presence in her life.

Her testimony has resonated with many followers who have praised her candor and spiritual resilience in sharing such a deeply personal experience.
