Popular Nigerian actor, Jerry Williams, has reportedly been arrested by Nwafor Franklin, better known as Izutech, in what appears to be an escalating dispute between the two Nollywood figures.
According to reports, Williams was taken into custody on Monday morning at his residence in Delta State by officers from the Edo State Police Command, who allegedly assisted Izutech in the arrest.
Fellow Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop broke the news through an Instagram video, raising alarm about the situation and calling on the public to hold Izutech accountable for Williams' safety.
In the video, Stanley made serious allegations against Izutech, claiming he has withheld approximately N2.5 million that was collected from producers interested in casting Williams in their productions.
"Izu went to Jerry Williams house in the early hours of today 21st July 2025 and bundled him to Benin with the help of some Nigeria police," Stanley wrote in his post. "Let it be known that Jerry Williams is in Izu's custody. If anything happens to Jerry, Izu should be held responsible."
The incident comes shortly after Williams had returned to the Nollywood scene following a period in rehabilitation for substance abuse. Earlier reports indicated that the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) had previously suspended Williams over drug-related issues.
As of the time of reporting, neither Izutech nor the police authorities have issued any official statement regarding the arrest or the allegations of financial impropriety.
This development has sparked concern among fans and colleagues in the Nigerian film industry, particularly given Williams' recent return to acting after his rehabilitation.
