The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has announced that councillorship aspirants in Hildi Ward of Hong Local Government Area will pay N250,000 for nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the upcoming by-election.

According to the party's newly released timetable and guidelines, the nomination form is priced at N200,000 while the expression of interest form costs N50,000, bringing the total to N250,000 for male aspirants.

Adamawa State PDP Chairman Tahir Shehu, who unveiled the schedule, announced that the sale of forms would commence on July 16 and conclude on July 18, 2025. He clarified that female aspirants would benefit from a waiver on the nomination fee, requiring them to purchase only the expression of interest form at N50,000.

"The deadline for submission of completed forms is Friday, July 18, while screening of aspirants will take place the following day, July 19," Shehu stated. The party primaries to select the PDP's flag bearer for the by-election have been scheduled for July 21, 2025.

The Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Mohammed Umar, confirmed to reporters in Yola that the councillorship by-election for Hildi Ward is set to hold on July 26, 2025, just five days after the party's primaries.

This by-election comes at a time when political activities are intensifying in Adamawa State, with various parties preparing their strategies for securing the vacant councillorship position in Hildi Ward.
