Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has expressed strong confidence that President Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, pointing to the administration's ongoing reforms as evidence of transformative leadership.
Speaking during an interview on the Mic On podcast on Saturday, Dare emphasized that the administration's comprehensive policy approach would yield visible results that would resonate with voters by the next election cycle.
"Policies take time. Top economic experts say it takes four to six years before you begin to see the results," Dare stated during the interview. "When you look at the alignment of policies touching key sectors of the economy, our oil sector, the educational sector, and health sector, and consider the sheer number of policies implemented by this administration in just two years, you will see the development."
The presidential aide further highlighted Tinubu's strategic approach to Nigeria's longstanding challenges, suggesting that the president is tackling fundamental issues that previous administrations had avoided.
"Most importantly, we have a president who understands that this giant Nigeria has been punching below its weight," Dare continued. "He is now waking up critical sectors that others preferred to ignore or procrastinate about. He has begun to interrogate the 'devils' that have held this country down."
Dare's comments come as the Tinubu administration approaches its third year in office, with several economic reforms already implemented despite facing criticism over their immediate impact on citizens. The administration has maintained that these policies, while challenging in the short term, are necessary for Nigeria's long-term economic stability and growth.
Political analysts note that the administration's ability to demonstrate tangible improvements in living standards before the 2027 election will be crucial to fulfilling Dare's prediction of a successful re-election bid for President Tinubu.
