Nigerian singer Reekado Banks has disclosed that his colleague Wizkid expressed regret for publicly insulting him over a song release announcement during the 2020 EndSARS protests.

In a recent interview on The Esther Show, Banks revealed details about their reconciliation, explaining that Wizkid had visited his restaurant where they had a heart-to-heart conversation about the incident.

The public fallout occurred in October 2020 when Reekado announced the release of their collaborative track "Omo Olomo" amid nationwide protests against police brutality. Wizkid's harsh response, calling Banks a "fool" and "clout animal," shocked many fans and industry observers.

"Recently he [Wizkid] came visiting my restaurant. We had a little talk and he was a little regretful about it," Banks stated. "He was like he shouldn't have gone that route. He mentioned his behaviour towards Don Jazzy as well."

According to Reekado, Wizkid acknowledged that his response was excessive and referenced their shared experience of losing their mothers. "He was like we are three people in the game [music industry] who recently lost our moms. And he feels sorry about that time, so, we are good now," he added.

The "Katapot" singer also clarified that it was his management team who insisted on releasing the song during that period, despite his initial opposition to the timing.

This reconciliation marks the end of one of the more public disagreements in Nigeria's music industry in recent years, with both artists apparently moving past their differences.
