Popular Nollywood actress, Kemisola Apesin, professionally known as Sidi or Kemity, has opened up about the circumstances that led to her having children with different fathers, addressing critics who have trolled her over her personal life choices.
During a recent interview on the "Talk to B" podcast hosted by actress Biola Bayo, Kemity revealed that her journey into motherhood began unexpectedly during her secondary school years.
"I was about to sit for my SSCE exam when I got pregnant. My mother insisted that I must continue my education before I could marry the man who got me pregnant," she explained.
The actress shared the tragic fate of her first child's father, stating, "The father of my first child was killed in a Nigeria hotel after he returned from Malaysia. He didn't inform me or anyone when he came back to Nigeria. I just received a call that he was found dead and when we got to the scene, we only saw 300 dollars with him. We believed the money he returned with was stolen before we got there. That is how I became a widow."
Kemity emphasized that having children with different fathers was never her intention. She detailed how she met her second child's father during a computer training program, eventually having a court wedding with him. However, the relationship deteriorated due to his extramarital affairs.
"I later left him when he told me that his Alfa told him that he cannot be successful except he separates from me," she revealed, highlighting the superstitious beliefs that contributed to their separation.
The actress expressed frustration at being judged without people knowing her full story, stating, "I was trolled for having two children for different fathers. People don't really know how it happened. It is not my wish or intentions to leave my husband."
Her candid revelations provide insight into the personal struggles many face behind the glamour of the entertainment industry, reminding fans that public figures often deal with complex life situations that aren't immediately apparent to their audience.
