Former Minister of Transport, Idris Umar, has declared that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will spearhead Nigeria's political and economic recovery, positioning the party as the nation's path to redemption.

Speaking at an expanded caucus meeting held on Tuesday at Shugleez Event Centre in Gombe, Umar emphasized that the ADC coalition represents more than just an opposition movement.

"This coalition is not just about grabbing power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). It is about rescuing Nigeria and restoring hope to millions suffering under current socio-economic hardships," Umar stated.

The former minister highlighted the urgent need for people-focused leadership to replace what he described as a failed system that has not improved ordinary Nigerians' lives.

"The ADC is the vehicle through which we will redeem Nigeria and offer real change," he added, calling on voters, particularly in Gombe, to critically assess the APC's performance before making decisions in upcoming elections.

Umar assured that the party would maintain an open-door policy, welcoming citizens from diverse backgrounds and political affiliations. "The power to chart a new course lies with the people," he emphasized.

The strategic meeting brought together key opposition figures, grassroots mobilizers, and stakeholders who officially adopted the ADC as their joint political platform ahead of future electoral contests.

Political analysts note that this development comes amid growing dissatisfaction with the current administration's economic policies and could potentially reshape Nigeria's political landscape as the country approaches the next election cycle.
