Kwara United players have received a generous reward package from the Kwara State Governor following their historic President Federation Cup victory. Each player has been awarded N5 million and a plot of land in recognition of their achievement.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq announced the donations during a grand reception held for the team in Ilorin on Monday. The ceremony celebrated the team's first-ever Federation Cup title after they defeated Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties in the final match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos last Saturday.

Historic Victory Celebration

The Harmony Boys, as Kwara United are fondly called, returned to Ilorin from Lagos on Monday morning to a hero's welcome. The team conducted a trophy parade through key areas of the state capital, showcasing their silverware to jubilant supporters.

This triumph marks a significant milestone for coach Tunde Sanni's side, as it represents the first time the club has lifted the prestigious Federation Cup trophy in their history.

Continental Football Awaits

By virtue of winning the competition, Kwara United have secured the right to represent Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup next season. This continental qualification adds further significance to their achievement and provides an opportunity for the team to test themselves against top clubs from across Africa.

The reward package from the state government demonstrates the importance placed on sporting excellence and serves as motivation for other teams in the region.
