A young woman identified as Faith, originally from Benue State, was fatally stabbed by suspected robbers on Friday along Mobile Road in the Ajah area of Lagos State.
The victim, a native of Itakpa Ito in Obi Local Government Area of Benue State, had reportedly visited her boyfriend earlier in the day and was on her way home when the tragic incident occurred.
How The Attack Happened
According to eyewitnesses, Faith was confronted by a group of men who attempted to rob her of her phone and handbag. When she resisted, a struggle ensued, during which one of the assailants stabbed her in the neck with what is believed to be a knife.
The attackers fled the scene, leaving Faith bleeding on the roadside. Passersby later discovered her lifeless body and alerted security authorities. Her remains have since been deposited at a nearby mortuary.
As of the time of this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official statement regarding the incident, though investigations are reportedly underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
This incident adds to growing concerns about security in various parts of Lagos, particularly for young people traveling alone in the evening hours.
