Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest has escalated his paternity dispute with Kenyan woman Hellen Ati by filing a defamation lawsuit against her in Kenya.

The legal action comes six months after Ati publicly accused the popular Nigerian businessman of fathering her two-year-old son and refusing to take responsibility.

Background of the Paternity Dispute

According to Hellen Ati, she had a brief romantic encounter with Cubana Chief Priest in April 2022, which resulted in her pregnancy. She claims that after giving birth, her attempts to reach him were unsuccessful as he allegedly blocked her on all communication channels.

Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, has consistently denied these allegations, insisting that they have never met before. When Ati called for a paternity test to resolve the matter, her request was reportedly met with silence from the Nigerian socialite.

Legal Developments

On Tuesday, a Nigerian lawyer known as DPA Family Clinic shared on Facebook that Cubana Chief Priest had filed a defamation suit against Hellen Ati in Kenya.

Responding to the lawsuit, Ati took to Instagram to express her defiance: "Pascal thinks he can sue right? You know within yourself that you are supposed to be in jail by now, and you have audacity, after how many years of calling you to prove yourself innocent with a DNA test if you are sure that I'm lying against you."

She further stated, "This is Kenya, my country, not Nigeria where you believe you can buy lawyers with your money or the hospital to change the DNA result. I didn't defame you, I have only been calling you to do a paternity test but you refused. I can't be silent by your lawsuit. I will continue to call you out until you do the needful."

BenriNews will continue to monitor this developing story as both parties pursue their legal options.
