Former Big Brother Naija Season 9 housemates and ex-lovers, Zion and Chinwe, engaged in a heated exchange during the first episode of the reality show reunion, which premiered on Monday night. The pair clashed over conflicting accounts of who ended their relationship.

Zion claimed he initiated the breakup because their life purposes weren't aligned. "I basically ended things," he stated during the reunion hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu. When asked why, Zion explained, "Because I felt like we were moving in different places in our lives; how she let it play out."

Chinwe immediately challenged his version of events, visibly upset by his claims. "What Zion will not do is sit here and lie on me now," she retorted. When Zion asked how he had lied, Chinwe responded, "You could have owned the narrative, my love. What do you mean you broke up with me?"

Relationship Breakdown Details

Chinwe proceeded to share her side of the story, detailing an incident that she believes led to their relationship's demise. She narrated how Zion went clubbing all night just before she was scheduled to return to her base, despite her request for them to spend time together before her noon departure the next day.

According to Chinwe, Zion switched off his phone during this time. When he finally returned the following day, he claimed he couldn't get a ride home but allegedly drove past their residence to visit a friend's house instead.

Chinwe also revealed that Zion's family and friends dislike her because she had disclosed during the reality show that she sponsored his participation in the competition.

The reunion show, which typically brings together former housemates to address unresolved issues and update fans on their post-show lives, has just begun, with more episodes expected to reveal further details about the former couple's relationship.

This clash between Zion and Chinwe marks just the beginning of what promises to be a drama-filled reunion season for BBNaija Season 9 fans.
