PUBG MOBILE has officially opened registrations for its inaugural Africa Cup 2025, marking a historic moment for African esports as players from across the continent will now have a direct pathway to the prestigious PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC).

For the first time since the PMGC's inception in 2020, teams from Sub-Saharan Africa will have the opportunity to compete on the world stage through this landmark tournament. Registration opens through the PUBG MOBILE app from June 26 to July 9, 2025.

Tournament Structure and Prizes

The competition will feature online qualifiers and group stages, culminating in an all-expenses-paid Grand Final to be held in Kenya in September 2025. Smartphone giant Infinix is sponsoring the tournament, which boasts an impressive $8,000 prize pool.

The champion team will receive $2,000 and secure a coveted qualification spot for the 2025 PMGC Finals. Second and third-place finishers will take home $1,400 and $1,000 respectively, with prizes distributed all the way down to 16th place.

"We are so excited by the Africa Cup and we just can't wait to see players from all over the continent drop into the zone and fight side by side with their squads for the title of Africa's best," said Brian, Head of PUBG MOBILE Publishing in Sub-Saharan Africa. "If you think you're best, then it's time to test yourself and show the rest of the continent the stuff you're made of."

A Gateway to Global Recognition

The 2025 PUBG MOBILE Africa Cup represents more than just a tournament—it's a significant milestone for competitive mobile gaming across Africa and a platform for showcasing the continent's esports talent on a global stage.

PUBG MOBILE, co-developed by LIGHTSPEED STUDIOS of Tencent Games and KRAFTON, Inc., features up to 100 players parachuting onto a remote island to battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. Players must locate weapons, vehicles, and supplies while defeating opponents in a shrinking play zone.

Fans can follow the tournament live through PUBG MOBILE Africa's official social media channels on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
