Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze has emphasized the importance of discovering new footballers from local sporting events to secure a more prosperous future for Nigeria in international football competitions.

Speaking on Sunday after the final match of the 4th edition of the Samuel Chukwueze All Stars Football League at Ugba Community School in Umuahia, the AC Milan star highlighted how such events can project raw talents into the international football market.

"This is the place I grew up from. I also want other talents to be discovered from here and showcased, and I hope the world is watching," Chukwueze said after scoring the winning penalty in the shoot-out during the final match between AC Milan and IPOD FC.

Personal Connection Drives Commitment

Chukwueze revealed that his own journey began at the same Ugba Community Primary School, where he was discovered as a raw talent. This personal connection has motivated him to continue hosting the competition at the same venue, aiming to provide similar opportunities for the next generation of Nigerian footballers.

The Italy-based winger expressed confidence that many players who featured in his tournament would eventually be signed by foreign clubs. He urged young talents across Nigeria to seize every opportunity provided by sporting events to showcase their potential.

According to Chukwueze, organizing football championships leads to the discovery of hidden talents who could eventually win trophies for Nigeria in both youth and senior football tournaments, potentially becoming superstars in major football leagues worldwide.

The tournament, now in its fourth edition, continues to serve as a platform for identifying promising footballers who might otherwise remain undiscovered in local communities.
