The Kano State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the vandalism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's 2027 campaign billboard in Kano, following the circulation of a viral video showing youths dismantling the structure.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Hussaini Abdullahi, issued a statement condemning the act as criminal and a potential threat to public peace. "The destruction of any public or private property is a serious offence, and those found guilty will be prosecuted in accordance with the law," the statement emphasized.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has called for calm among residents while warning that future acts of vandalism will face severe legal consequences. He reiterated the command's commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the state.

The incident has sparked public concern as it comes amid early positioning for the 2027 general elections. Authorities have expressed determination to identify and apprehend those responsible for the destruction.

This development occurs as political tensions continue to simmer in various parts of the country, with campaign activities gradually increasing despite being more than two years away from the next presidential election.
