Kwara United FC have arrived in Lagos on Friday afternoon ahead of their historic President Federation Cup final match against Abakaliki FC scheduled for Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.

The Harmony Boys traveled from Ilorin to Lagos a day before the crucial encounter, which marks the first time in the club's history that they will be competing in the final of this prestigious competition.

Historic Opportunity for Kwara United

Kwara United's Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, had previously emphasized the importance of the team's early arrival in Lagos, stating that it would "ensure maximum concentration and thorough preparation" for the final.

The Ilorin-based club will be looking to make history by lifting the trophy for the first time, having never reached this stage of the competition before. They aim to dethrone El-Kanemi Warriors, who won the tournament last year.

Earlier this week, the Emir of Ilorin had urged the players to aim for victory, while team officials have expressed confidence in their preparation and readiness for the final.

Support for the Harmony Boys

According to reports, Kwara United are expected to receive massive support during the final match against Abakaliki FC. Football enthusiasts from Kwara State and supporters of the club are anticipated to turn out in large numbers to cheer their team to victory.

Sanni, a team official, had previously revealed the club's mission against Abakaliki FC, emphasizing their determination to secure the trophy and bring glory to Kwara State.

The match is also attracting attention from talent scouts, with reports indicating that Chelle has stormed Lagos to scout players for the upcoming Championship of African Nations (CHAN) 2024 tournament.
