Enyimba International Football Club has officially announced Friday, June 20 as the resumption date for pre-season training ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

According to a statement signed by the club's Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, training sessions will commence at 7:30 am at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba. All players and officials have been directed to adhere strictly to this schedule.

The announcement comes as the club looks to improve on their performance from last season, where they finished sixth in the league table with 55 points, missing out on qualification for continental football competitions.

NPFL 2025/26 Season Preparations

The 2025-26 NPFL season is scheduled to kick off on August 22, 2025, giving the People's Elephant approximately two months to prepare for the new campaign. This early resumption indicates the club's determination to mount a stronger challenge in the upcoming season.

Enyimba, one of Nigeria's most successful football clubs with multiple league titles and continental trophies, will be looking to reclaim their position among the elite teams in Nigerian football after failing to secure continental qualification last season.

In related developments, reports indicate that the Enyimba International Stadium is currently undergoing renovations ahead of the new season, which should provide improved facilities for both players and fans.

Other NPFL clubs have also begun preparations for the upcoming season, with Abia Warriors already commencing their pre-season activities and Nasarawa United reportedly working on stadium improvements.
