Chelsea have begun talks to sign Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade as the club continues its summer transfer activity despite recently securing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town for £30 million.
According to transfer insider Christian Falk, the Premier League club has already made contact with Woltemade's representatives. Chelsea officials have reportedly been informed that the 23-year-old German international does not have a release clause in his current contract, which runs until 2028.
Woltemade has been on Chelsea's radar for some time, with Enzo Maresca's side now making concrete moves to bring the forward to Stamford Bridge. The striker is currently showcasing his talents at the Euro U-21 Championship, where he leads the tournament as top goalscorer.
This potential signing indicates Chelsea's determination to strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season. The Blues have been active in the transfer market, with Delap already joining and now pursuing Woltemade as part of their offensive reinforcement strategy.
Chelsea's recent transfer activities also include their participation in the Club World Cup, where they secured a victory over Los Angeles FC in their opening match, with new signing Liam Delap providing an assist on his debut.
The west London club appears to be building momentum under Maresca, who has already identified several players showing improvement under his management.
