Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has urged his former club to prioritize signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko over Sporting CP's Viktor Gyokeres in their summer transfer plans.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Parlour highlighted Sesko's physical attributes as particularly suited for the Premier League. "Sesko is very quick and strong, so he could fit into the Premier League," Parlour stated. "He is only 21 years old as well, so you can probably coach him."

The Gunners are reportedly in the market for a top-class striker to strengthen manager Mikel Arteta's squad ahead of the upcoming season, with both Sesko and Gyokeres emerging as primary targets.

Experience vs. Potential

While acknowledging Gyokeres' familiarity with English football from his time at Coventry City, Parlour was clear about his preference. "Gyokeres played for Coventry City and knows the English game. He has been brilliant for Sporting CP. But, from an Arsenal point of view, I'd probably go for Sesko," he concluded.

This recommendation comes amid reports that Arsenal's pursuit of both strikers has intensified, with recent developments suggesting the club might be considering alternative options as negotiations for both players have reportedly stalled.

The North London club's striker search has seen them linked with several high-profile names, including Napoli's Victor Osimhen, though recent reports indicate they may have cooled their interest in the Nigerian international.

Arsenal's transfer strategy appears focused on securing a forward who can provide the clinical finishing needed to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
