WWE legend Rikishi has launched a scathing attack on WWE's creative team following Jey Uso's brief 51-day reign as World Heavyweight Champion.
Speaking on his Off The Top Podcast, the wrestling icon expressed his frustration over what he perceives as a failure by WWE's writers to develop a compelling storyline for his relative during his championship run.
"Fire those that are writing for this kid here. If you can't come up with something simple to promote and push your champion, that you, not me, you decided to put this kid in that position," Rikishi stated emphatically.
Championship Journey Cut Short
Jey Uso had achieved a career milestone by defeating Gunther at WrestleMania 41 to claim his first-ever world title after years in the wrestling industry. At 39 years old, the victory marked a significant achievement in his storied career.
However, the celebration was short-lived as Uso lost the championship back to Gunther, also known as the Ring General, during an episode of Monday Night RAW just 51 days after his victory.
Rikishi continued his criticism, saying, "All of a sudden the brains went just cloudy. You cannot write, you cannot think of an angle for Jey. Well, you cannot do your job. I say best endeavours, get the hell out the way. Put somebody in that position."
The former wrestler's comments highlight the ongoing debate among wrestling fans about WWE's booking decisions and creative direction, particularly regarding fan-favorite performers like Jey Uso.
This development comes amid other WWE news, including reports that Taremi will miss the upcoming Club World Cup following airport closures in Iran due to Israel's strikes.
