The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has officially pledged its commitment to supporting the Niger State Police Command in maintaining peace and security across the state.
During a courtesy visit to the Niger State Police Command headquarters in Minna, Mr. Tanko Dada, the PCRC National Vice Chairman for the North Central Geo-Political Zone, led a delegation of newly elected executives of Zone 7 to formalize the partnership.
Dada introduced the newly elected Zone 7 PCRC Chairman, Otunba Bolaji Adigun, along with other zonal and state executives to the command. He appealed to the Commissioner of Police to consider PCRC members not merely as partners but as family in the collective effort to enhance security in the state.
The committee specifically committed to providing valuable intelligence and support resources to help the police effectively address security challenges facing Niger State.
Police Commissioner Welcomes Collaboration
In his response, Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman, expressed gratitude to the PCRC executives and commended their active advocacy for police operations nationwide.
"We appreciate your commitment to supporting our efforts in maintaining peace and security in Niger State," the Commissioner stated. He assured the delegation of maximum cooperation and support to help achieve their shared goals of a safer state.
This partnership comes at a crucial time when community involvement in security matters has become increasingly important across Nigeria.
The PCRC, established to foster better relations between the police and communities, has been instrumental in bridging communication gaps and building trust between law enforcement agencies and citizens.
