Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has been crowned Fulham's Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign, securing an impressive 39.6% of the total votes cast.

The Nigerian international outperformed four other nominees to claim the prestigious award, including fellow countryman Alex Iwobi who finished second with 21.5% of votes.

Antonee Robinson secured third place with 19.9%, while goalkeeper Bernd Leno (10.9%) and midfielder Saša Lukić (8.1%) rounded out the top five in the voting.

Consistent Performances Throughout the Season

Bassey featured prominently for the Whites during the 2024/25 Premier League season, making 35 appearances and establishing himself as a cornerstone of Fulham's defense.

This achievement marks a significant improvement for the centre-back, who narrowly missed out on the award last season when he finished as runner-up.

The recognition highlights Bassey's growing influence in the Premier League and adds to the impressive list of Nigerian talents making their mark in England's top flight.

Meanwhile, in other football news, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has predicted the 2025 Ballon d'Or race, suggesting that Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland remain at a "super level" above other contenders.
