The North Central Good Governance Ambassadors have hailed the appointment of Mr. Cyril Tsenyil as the pioneer Managing Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) as a significant turning point for the region, describing it as a clear indication that the federal government is now prioritizing the zone's development needs.

"This appointment goes beyond politics. It's a clear signal that the federal government is ready to prioritize the needs of the North Central zone with the seriousness they deserve," said Comrade Moses Audu, the group's National Coordinator, in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Strategic Leadership for Regional Development

The group commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for matching words with action by not only establishing the Commission but also selecting what they described as a capable hand to lead it. According to the Ambassadors, the creation of the NCDC provides a long-awaited platform for tailored federal intervention in a region that has often been caught between national priorities but rarely at the center of them.

"Mr. Cyril Tsenyil brings to this role a rare blend of integrity, experience, and local understanding. His appointment is strategic, not just symbolic. He is a man equipped to bridge policy and grassroots impact," Audu stated.

The group praised Tsenyil's background in project delivery, policy design, and community engagement, describing him as a results-driven administrator. "He has a proven record of turning development plans into tangible outcomes. His leadership style is consultative, practical, and focused on solutions—exactly what the North Central needs," they added.

Call for Adequate Resources

The North Central Good Governance Ambassadors urged the Federal Government to ensure that the NCDC receives both the necessary resources and operational independence to fulfill its mandate effectively.

"With adequate funding and institutional backing—just like the NDDC and NEDC—we are confident that under Mr. Tsenyil's guidance, the Commission will deliver meaningful impact for the people of the North Central," the statement concluded.

The establishment of the NCDC follows similar commissions created for other geopolitical zones in Nigeria, including the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC), which have been tasked with addressing specific regional development challenges.
