Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has revealed that former defender Sergio Ramos would be his dream captain, stating that the Spanish icon was "born to be a captain."
In a recent interview with Canal Plus, Mbappe expressed his admiration for Ramos's leadership qualities both on and off the pitch.
"My dream captain? Sergio Ramos," Mbappe said. "He has the soul of a captain, he was born to be a captain."
The French forward elaborated on what makes Ramos exceptional as a leader: "In the dressing room, the pitch, the aura he has. Even if you don't give him the armband, the armband will cling onto him."
Former Teammates at PSG
Mbappe and Ramos shared the dressing room at Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons, featuring in 51 matches together before their paths diverged. Ramos departed PSG two years ago to join his boyhood club Sevilla in LaLiga.
Meanwhile, Mbappe made headlines last year when he left the French champions to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after deciding not to extend his contract with PSG.
Interestingly, Ramos himself had a legendary stint at Real Madrid before joining PSG, serving as the club's captain and winning numerous trophies including four Champions League titles.
Mbappe's comments highlight the lasting impression Ramos made on him during their time together in Paris, despite their relatively brief period as teammates.
The 25-year-old French star is now looking to create his own legacy at the Santiago Bernabeu, following in the footsteps of many football greats including Ramos himself.
