The Kwara State Football Association has unveiled comprehensive plans to support Kwara United in their quest to clinch the 2025 President Federation Cup title in their upcoming final against Abakaliki FC.
Mallam Idris Thuraya, chairman of the association, revealed that they will mobilize supporters and key stakeholders to attend the crucial match scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2025, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
"We must augment the government's efforts. We need to mobilize supporters and stakeholders who have an interest in football to accompany the team to Lagos," Thuraya told the Kwara State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria.
Media Coverage Push
The FA chairman emphasized the importance of media presence at the event, stating: "It is also important to move media professionals to Lagos to give this achievement the publicity it deserves."
The final will see Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kwara United face Nigeria National League (NNL) outfit Abakaliki FC in what promises to be an exciting contest for the coveted trophy.
This development comes as Kwara United's coach reportedly declared the team fully focused on the Federation Cup final, highlighting the significance of the match for the Ilorin-based club.
