A 75-year-old resident of Benue State, Mr. Iorkohol Dabu, sustained serious gunshot wounds following an attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Tuesday in Udei community, Nyiev Council Ward of Guma Local Government Area.
According to eyewitness accounts, the armed assailants invaded the community in the early hours of the morning and opened fire indiscriminately at residents. Mr. Dabu was struck during the violent assault and is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries.
Images from the scene revealed the extent of the violence, with bullet holes visible in iron doors and shattered glass windows throughout the community. Citizen Television documented the aftermath, highlighting the intensity of the attack.
As of the time of this report, security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, and no arrests have been made in connection with the attack.
