Mimi Chima, who claims to be popular Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson's childhood friend, has come forward with fresh allegations against the actress, further intensifying the ongoing public feud between Johnson and fellow actress Angela Okorie.
The controversy escalated after Mercy Johnson failed to address her conflict with Angela Okorie publicly, despite previously promising to do so. Okorie has repeatedly accused the mother of four of being a witch.
In a video posted on her Instagram handle, Chima claimed that Johnson's silence on the matter is because "she is guilty and has nothing to say." She further alleged that the actress is "surrounded by over 100 evil spirits that harm people around her."
"Mercy came out to say she would address Nigerians. Nigerians waited for her but did not get any response from her. I tell una say Mercy Johnson no get anything to tell una say na very big witch she be. Only the evil spirit in her body is more than 100, and all they do is harm people around her, you go just go sleep for night you no go wake up," Chima stated in her video.
She continued with more accusations, saying, "Her power don fail and she does not know what to tell Nigerians again, she is a very useless witch."
This development adds another layer to the ongoing public dispute between the two Nollywood actresses that has captured significant attention on social media platforms.
Neither Mercy Johnson nor Angela Okorie has responded to these latest allegations at the time of reporting.
It's worth noting that Johnson has recently been in the news for other reasons, including clarifying rumors about her health. In previous statements, she addressed speculation about cancer, stating "I do not have cancer" while explaining she had undergone thyroid surgery following a cancer scare, which resulted in noticeable weight loss.
The actress, who is married to Prince Odianosen Okojie, has maintained a strong presence in Nollywood despite various controversies throughout her career.
