Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan, also known as Madrina, has responded to Peter Okoye of P-Square after he referenced her in a social media post addressing his ongoing family dispute.

The exchange began when Peter Okoye took to Instagram on Wednesday to accuse his twin brother Paul and elder brother Jude of betrayal and theft amid their legal battle. In his post, Peter referenced past disputes between his brothers and former signees, including Cynthia Morgan.

"Exactly what I was talking about: their publicist doing everything to make me look like a liar. I'm not MayD or Cynthia Morgan. I'm PETER OKOYE, the one and only ROCK/OKWUTE of the Okoyes. The truth shall prevail. #UnaThiefAbiUnaNoThief #FamilyDoesNotStealFromFamily," Peter wrote.

Cynthia Morgan, who had a bitter fallout with Northside Entertainment label owned by the three Okoye brothers, didn't take the mention of her name lightly. She responded via her Instagram story with a pointed message.

"I have a mixed feeling about my name popping up like this. I'm not a weak person. Certain family members made it look so. @peterpsquare included. Until you found out what they were doing to you too. Na me listen to una sha," Morgan stated.

Background of the Dispute

Cynthia Morgan's conflict with Northside Entertainment became public knowledge when she accused the label of mismanagement and unfair treatment. Her career reportedly took a downturn following the dispute, which led to her rebranding as Madrina.

Peter's recent comments come amid his own ongoing legal battle with his brothers, which has seen the once-unified P-Square group face significant internal challenges. The twins, who reunited in 2021 after a four-year split, appear to be facing fresh tensions.

BenriNews recalls that Peter was recently involved in another controversy when UK-based Nigerian singer Darkoo accused him of taking down her song, claiming he didn't bow to his demands.

The ongoing saga highlights the complex relationships within the Nigerian music industry, particularly regarding artist-label relations and family business dynamics.
