Nine-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Enyimba FC are currently in negotiations with Stanley Eguma to appoint him as the club's substantive head coach, following his successful interim period with the team.

Eguma, who was appointed as interim head coach midway through last season after the club parted ways with Olanrewaju Yemi, guided the People's Elephant to a respectable sixth-place finish in the NPFL standings.

Eguma's Impact at Enyimba

During his temporary tenure, Eguma also led Enyimba in their continental campaign, where the team finished third in their CAF Confederation Cup group, narrowly missing out on qualification for the knockout stages.

Sources close to the club reveal that Eguma has already submitted his contract demands to Enyimba's management, which are currently under review. Both parties are expected to finalize the details of the potential agreement next week.

The appointment would mark a significant step in Enyimba's efforts to rebuild and challenge for the NPFL title in the upcoming season, with the Aba-based club looking to add to their record nine league championships.

Eguma's extensive experience in Nigerian football and his demonstrated ability to stabilize the team during a challenging period have made him a favored candidate for the permanent position.
