Suspected kidnappers have abducted a cleric who also works as a lawyer, Mr. Emeka Irogboli, along with a solar panel engineer identified only as Biggie. The incident occurred in Ibusa, near Asaba, Delta State on Friday.
According to reports, the kidnappers have issued threats to kill the victims if their families fail to comply with ransom demands in a timely manner. Both victims are married with children.
Police Yet to Confirm Abduction
At the time of this report, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has not responded to phone calls, text messages, or WhatsApp messages seeking confirmation of the incident.
This abduction comes amid growing concerns about security in Delta State. Recently, Governor Oborevwori warned council chairmen and monarchs against absenting themselves from security council meetings, highlighting the administration's focus on addressing security challenges in the region.
In separate incidents, security operatives and hunters reportedly gunned down four suspected kidnappers in Delta, while in another case, kidnappers ambushed security operatives in a Delta community.
