The Kwara State Police Command has put in place comprehensive security arrangements to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the state, according to Commissioner of Police Adekimi Ojo.
In a statement released in Ilorin on Thursday by the command's spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, the commissioner revealed that an operation order has been drawn up directing officers, tactical teams, and personnel to provide adequate security at all Eid prayer grounds and public gathering places throughout the state.
Security Measures Implemented
"Visibility policing, intelligence gathering, men on patrol and guard duties will be carried out to prevent any form of heinous act," the statement detailed, emphasizing the command's commitment to ensuring a hitch-free celebration as Muslim faithful prepare for the 10 Dhuʻl-Hijjah festivities.
The command has issued a stern warning against mounting tents, canopies, or any form of obstruction on public roads, stating that such actions compromise public safety and will not be tolerated. Anyone found violating this directive will face legal consequences.
