Kenyan President William Ruto has playfully warned of a potential "brain drain" in Kenya following the marriages of his two daughters to Nigerian men, suggesting Kenyan men might be lagging in romantic pursuits.

Speaking at a recent wedding ceremony, President Ruto addressed the growing trend of Kenyan women marrying Nigerians in a light-hearted manner that has since gained attention across Africa.

"My daughter is married to a Nigerian, and this one is now married to a Nigerian. And our guys around; I don't know, are you slow? I don't know. We need to balance this scale because at this rate, we are going to have a brain drain from Kenya," the President quipped in a video shared on social media.

Strengthening Kenya-Nigeria Relations

Beyond the humor, President Ruto highlighted that these unions reflect the strong and friendly ties between Kenya and Nigeria, suggesting that both nations should continue to build on this relationship.

"I think there is something between Kenya and Nigeria, we should pick it up further," Ruto added, emphasizing the potential for deeper bilateral relations between the two African powerhouses.

The President's comments come at a time when cross-cultural marriages between citizens of different African nations are becoming increasingly common, reflecting the continent's growing interconnectedness and cultural exchange.

While delivered in jest, Ruto's remarks have sparked conversations about international relationships and cultural integration across Africa, particularly between East and West African nations.
