The Kano State Police Command has discovered a fake AK-47 rifle at the residence of one of the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano local government area.
According to a statement by the command's spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the discovery was made during the ongoing investigation into the killing of CSP Baba Ali, who served as the DPO of Rano.
"A fake AK-47 rifle was discovered at the home of one of the suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the DPO of Rano during investigation," Kiyawa stated in a post on his official Facebook page.
Background of the Case
The Kano State Police Command had previously arrested 41 suspects believed to be directly involved in the killing of CSP Baba Ali. The DPO was reportedly killed during violent unrest that erupted in Rano Local Government Area following the death of a suspect in police custody.
