The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended a 24-year-old suspected serial burglar identified as Habeeb Suleiman. The arrest took place in the Warah Oja community of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the command's spokesman, Ayoola Micheal Shola, the suspect was caught in the early hours of June 3, 2025, following a distress call from vigilant community members who spotted him attempting to escape with a stolen generator.
Series of Burglary Incidents
Preliminary investigations have revealed that Suleiman is allegedly a habitual and notorious burglar who has been terrorizing the Warah Oja community for some time. The suspect reportedly targeted residential apartments consistently, making off with valuable property and disrupting the peace and safety of the neighborhood.
NSCDC operatives conducted a thorough search of the suspect's residence following his arrest, where they discovered a substantial cache of items believed to have been stolen during previous burglary operations.

Four television sets
One Jincheng motorcycle
Four laptops
Six phones
Two generators
Two Mouka foam mattresses
Charms and other valuables
The statement further disclosed that the suspect has provided a voluntary confessional statement and will face charges in a court of competent jurisdiction once the ongoing investigation concludes.
