Katsina United head coach Azeez Audu has identified the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 31 fixture against Ikorodu City as the most challenging encounter his team faced during the 2024/25 season.

The Chanji Boys suffered a devastating 6-0 defeat to Ikorodu City in the match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, leaving a lasting impression on the coach.

"The most difficult match in the just concluded season for me as a coach is our match against Ikorodu City," Audu told Nigerian Players Gallery. "I think it's unforgettable."

Season Highlights and Contrasts

In contrast to the difficult outing against Ikorodu City, Audu pointed to their NPFL week 34 victory over Abia Warriors as their most comfortable match of the campaign. Katsina United recorded an impressive 5-1 win in that encounter, their highest-scoring performance of the season.

Despite identifying this as their easiest match, the young tactician was quick to acknowledge the competitive nature of the league: "Seriously, no match is easy because we fight to get the three points, but I will say against Abia Warriors because we scored the highest number of goals this season against them."

The 2024/25 NPFL season has been a rollercoaster for many clubs, with Katsina United experiencing both significant victories and crushing defeats that have shaped their campaign.

As the season concludes, attention now turns to preparation for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign, with reports indicating that Katsina United has already begun setting guidelines for their pre-season preparations.
