Russian defender Danil Krugovoy has declared that his team harbors no fear ahead of their upcoming friendly match against Nigeria's Super Eagles, scheduled for Friday at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow.
Krugovoy expressed confidence in Russia's ability to secure victory on home soil, despite acknowledging the quality of the Nigerian team.
"There are no jitters, we are playing at home," Krugovoy told reporters. "I hope that many fans will come, Luzhniki will be completely packed. Nigeria is a good team, we are obliged to beat them at home."
Super Eagles in Strong Form
The Super Eagles enter the match with impressive momentum, remaining unbeaten in their last four outings with three victories and one draw. Most recently, Eric Chelle's squad claimed victory in the Unity Cup invitational tournament held in London last weekend.
This strong run of form has not deterred Valery Karpin's Russian side, who are looking to capitalize on home advantage at the iconic Luzhniki Stadium.
The friendly match represents an important test for both teams as they continue preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures in their respective continental qualifying campaigns.
Coach Chelle has recently released a revised squad list for the Russian encounter, with several players earning late call-ups to the national team setup.
