According to Dr. Jatau, the bill, once assented to by the governor, will facilitate the training and retraining of teachers, ultimately contributing to the overall development of the education sector in the state. The Speaker expressed appreciation to the members for their tireless efforts in ensuring the bill's passage.

Following the passage, the Speaker directed the Clerk of the House to communicate the resolution to Governor Abdullahi Sule for further necessary action.

Legislative Process

The bill successfully scaled its third reading after Mr. Suleiman Azara, the Majority Leader of the house, moved a motion for its advancement. The motion was seconded by Mr. Luka Zhekaba, the Minority Leader, following which the House unanimously passed the bill into law.

This development comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Nasarawa State government to strengthen its educational infrastructure and improve the quality of teaching across the state.

The Education Development Trust Fund is expected to create a sustainable funding mechanism for educational initiatives in Nasarawa State, potentially addressing challenges related to teacher quality, educational resources, and infrastructure development.
