The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested nine suspected internet fraudsters in the Sabo area of Kaduna State. The operation was carried out by operatives from the Kaduna Zonal Directorate on Monday, June 2, 2025.

According to the anti-graft agency, the arrests followed actionable intelligence that linked the suspects to fraudulent internet activities. The commission made this known in a statement released on Tuesday.

Items Recovered During the Operation

Several items were recovered from the suspects during the operation. These include:

  • Nine iPhones

  • Seventeen android phones

  • Four power banks

  • Three necklaces

  • Two bangles

  • One headphone

The EFCC has stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. This arrest is part of the commission's ongoing efforts to combat internet fraud and other financial crimes across Nigeria.

The operation highlights the EFCC's commitment to tackling the growing menace of cybercrime, which has damaged Nigeria's international reputation and affected legitimate business activities in recent years.
