His Royal Highness Emmanuel Sarki Omanji, the traditional ruler of Dari village in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has been rescued after being kidnapped by gunmen last week.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the information on Tuesday, the monarch was successfully rescued unhurt by security forces.

Details of the Kidnapping and Rescue

The Sangari of Dari was abducted on May 28 around 8:00 p.m. when armed men invaded his residence along Amba Road in Kokona LGA. After days of intensive search operations and pressure from security agencies, he was rescued at approximately 9:00 p.m. on June 2.

The rescue operation was successfully executed in the Panwasa Mountains, near Mada Station, where the kidnappers had taken the traditional ruler.

Security sources confirmed that following his rescue, the monarch was immediately taken to the General Hospital in Garaku for medical examination. He has since been reunited with his family.

Rising Concerns Over Traditional Rulers' Security

This incident adds to growing concerns about the security of traditional rulers across Nigeria, with several similar cases reported in recent months. Traditional institutions continue to call for enhanced security measures to protect monarchs who often serve as custodians of peace and cultural heritage in their communities.

The successful rescue operation demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated security efforts in responding to kidnapping incidents, which have become increasingly common in various parts of the country.
