The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has publicly declared that he has no personal crisis with Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, while also revealing that he did not support the State of Emergency recently declared in Rivers State by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, Wike claimed that Governor Fubara had allowed himself to be manipulated by Wike's political enemies to create conflict between them.

"I don't have any crisis with him (Fubara). I'm not the President who declared a State of Emergency; if Mr President had called me, I wouldn't have agreed to the State of Emergency," Wike stated.

The FCT Minister further explained his perspective on the emergency declaration: "What I said was that the declaration of state of emergency was to save the governor because he was almost impeached."

Wike, who previously served as Rivers State Governor before Fubara, pointed to what he described as political manipulation behind the scenes. "I don't have crisis rather the governor, unknown to me, gave himself to be the tool for those who couldn't fight me to fight me," he said.

The minister also addressed ongoing issues within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), describing some actors as "undertakers" and questioning why the governor would place himself in such a political crisis.

"I made it clear that this impunity will not stand, so what is happening in PDP is what I call undertakers because I see no reason why you will put yourself under that kind of crisis," Wike remarked.

Regarding the duration of the State of Emergency, Wike indicated that the decision rests entirely with President Tinubu. "He knows when to lift, he has everything on his table, I don't know. I have never supported it," he added.

The political situation in Rivers State has been tense in recent months, with reports of conflict between Wike and his successor, despite Wike having supported Fubara's candidacy during the gubernatorial elections.
