Chelsea are preparing for a significant squad overhaul this summer with manager Enzo Maresca reportedly ready to approve the sale of up to 15 players, according to the UK Guardian.

Despite guiding the Blues to Champions League qualification and winning the Europa Conference League in his first season, Maresca is already making strategic plans for the upcoming season and this month's Club World Cup.

The Italian tactician's restructuring plans come as the club is actively pursuing new signings, with Ipswich Town's Liam Delap reportedly on the verge of completing a move to Stamford Bridge.

Players on the Transfer List

Several players who spent last season on loan have been transfer listed, including Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Raheem Sterling, Lesley Ugochukwu, Djordje Petrovic, and Joao Felix.

Additionally, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Christopher Nkunku, who have struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, are also available for potential suitors.

Despite impressing last term, Trevoh Chalobah's future at the club remains uncertain. The club is also willing to consider serious offers for Wesley Fofana due to his concerning injury record.

Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez could depart if a new shot-stopper arrives, while striker Nicolas Jackson may leave if another forward is signed following Delap's arrival.

Noni Madueke, who joined from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for £30 million, has also been added to the list of players available for transfer.

Strategic Rebuild

The extensive clear-out appears to be part of Maresca's strategy to reshape the squad according to his vision while also addressing Chelsea's bloated roster, which has been a point of criticism in recent seasons.

This transfer strategy aligns with Chelsea's recent approach of balancing incoming transfers with necessary departures to comply with financial regulations while building a more cohesive squad.

The Blues will be looking to strengthen their squad further as they prepare for Champions League football and aim to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
