Katsina United Football Club has announced strict guidelines for their preparation ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, with the club adopting an invitation-only policy for player recruitment.
According to a statement released on Monday by Rabiu Muhammad Rabiu, Permanent Secretary of the Katsina State Ministry of Sports, the Chanji Boys will only admit new players to the team through formal invitations.
"Players resumption are going to be strictly on invitation," Rabiu stated in the official announcement. "The management is hereby advising all players that are on break to accept the decision with good faith."
The club management also extended their well-wishes to players currently on break, stating: "The management is wishing everyone a fruitful break and happy stay with their families."
This development comes as Katsina United looks to reorganize and strengthen their squad after narrowly escaping relegation in the recently concluded NPFL season. The club's goalkeeper was reportedly rewarded for his crucial role in helping the team maintain their top-flight status.
The invitation-only approach suggests a more selective recruitment strategy as the Chanji Boys aim to improve their performance in the upcoming 2024/25 NPFL campaign.
Players and fans will be watching closely as the club begins its preparation phase, with expectations that the new guidelines will help build a more competitive squad for the new season.
