The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Dass/Tafawa Balewa/Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi State has lauded President Bola Tinubu for appointing former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as Chairman of the National Credit Guarantee Company (NCGC).

In a statement signed by Rabiu Garba on behalf of 27 APC stakeholders, the group described Dogara's appointment as "timely, well-deserved and meritorious."

"The appointment of Rt Hon Yakubu Dogara to serve in this administration affirms our testimony that he has remained steadfast with the APC, its stakeholders and his constituents," the statement read.

The group further emphasized that Dogara "is never left out in any contribution to promote the party and the progressive agenda."

Dogara's Legislative Legacy

According to the APC stakeholders, Dogara's leadership as Speaker of the 8th National Assembly established the foundation for several significant legislative reforms. During his tenure, the House passed over 300 bills and more than 1,000 resolutions.

Notable achievements under his leadership included the establishment of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), the passage of the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB), and the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Bill.

The stakeholders expressed confidence that Dogara's experience and integrity would enhance the effectiveness of the NCGC in improving access to credit for small businesses and middle-income earners across Nigeria.

The National Credit Guarantee Company is expected to play a crucial role in President Tinubu's economic agenda by facilitating access to credit and supporting small and medium enterprises in the country.

This appointment comes as part of the president's ongoing efforts to bring experienced hands into his administration to drive economic growth and development.
