Wikki Tourists FC have embarked on a 10-day break following their successful qualification for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight playoff tournament.

The break, which runs from Sunday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 10, 2025, is designed to allow players to reunite with their families and recharge ahead of the crucial playoff competition that could see them return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

In an announcement shared on their official Facebook page, the club's management expressed confidence that the short recess would benefit the team's performance in the upcoming tournament.

"Management is optimistic that the same energy and focus will drive the team to success in the Super 8 and ultimately, a return to the NPFL next season," the statement read.

The Bauchi-based club has instructed players to resume training at 4:00 PM on June 11 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, where they will begin intensive preparations for the playoff tournament.

Wikki Tourists secured their Super Eight spot by finishing as one of the top two teams from NNL Group C, alongside Barau FC. The playoff tournament will determine which teams gain promotion to the NPFL for the upcoming season.

The club, which has previously competed in Nigeria's top flight, is aiming to make a return to the NPFL after their relegation. The Super Eight playoff represents their opportunity to rejoin the elite division of Nigerian football.

Football analysts believe the strategic break could provide Wikki Tourists with the mental and physical refreshment needed to excel in the high-pressure environment of the playoff tournament.
