Rangers International FC Chairman, Amobi Ezeaku, has expressed satisfaction with the team's overall performance in the 2024/25 season, despite the Flying Antelopes missing out on continental qualification.

The Enugu-based club finished 10th in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) with 52 points from 38 matches, falling short of their pre-season targets as defending champions.

In his address to players and officials, Ezeaku acknowledged that while the team didn't meet their initial objectives, their achievements were still commendable under the circumstances.

"We did relatively well. A semi-final finish in the President Federation Cup and a 10th-place finish in the league, though not our target from the onset, is still respectable for a defending league champion," Ezeaku stated.

The chairman also highlighted the team's participation in the second round of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League as another positive, considering the challenges they faced during the campaign.

Focus Shifts to Next Season

Rangers have announced a 27-day break for players and officials, with preparations for the next season scheduled to commence on June 23, 2025.

Ezeaku urged the players to use the break wisely: "When we go, I urge the players to get the deserved rest so that when we resume on 23 June 2025, we shall be turbo-charged to contest on all fronts, reclaim all that is due to us, and celebrate with our fans all over the world."

The Flying Antelopes will be looking to improve on their 10th-place finish and make a stronger push for continental qualification in the upcoming 2025/26 NPFL season.

Rangers' semi-final exit from the 2025 President Federation Cup also denied them an alternative route to continental football, adding further disappointment to a season that fell below expectations for the seven-time Nigerian champions.
