Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly interested in reuniting with two of his former players at his new club Bayer Leverkusen.
Ten Hag, who was appointed as Bayer Leverkusen's new manager following Xabi Alonso's departure, has identified Manchester United wingers Antony and Alejandro Garnacho as potential transfer targets, according to German publication Kicker.
The Dutch tactician was dismissed by Manchester United in late October and now faces the challenge of rebuilding a Leverkusen side that won the Bundesliga title last season but finished second behind Bayern Munich in the recently concluded 2024/25 campaign.
Familiar Faces on Ten Hag's Wishlist
Ten Hag's interest in both players stems from his time managing them at Old Trafford. Antony, who was brought to Manchester United from Ajax by Ten Hag in a high-profile transfer, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Real Betis and could be available for transfer this summer.
Garnacho, meanwhile, has reportedly been told by current Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim that he is free to leave the club during the upcoming transfer window, potentially paving the way for a move to Germany.
The potential double swoop would represent Ten Hag's first major transfer business since taking over at the BayArena and signal his intent to put his own stamp on the Leverkusen squad.
Ten Hag's appointment comes with high expectations following Leverkusen's recent success under Alonso. The Dutchman will be tasked with returning the club to the summit of German football while also making an impact in European competitions.
Neither Manchester United nor Bayer Leverkusen have officially commented on the potential transfers at this stage.
