Jamaica has drafted former Chelsea player Malik Mothersille into their squad ahead of the Unity Cup final showdown with Nigeria's Super Eagles scheduled for Saturday at the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford.

Mothersille, 21, currently plays for English League One club Peterborough United and has also been named in Jamaica's 60-man preliminary squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Reggae Boys secured their place in the Unity Cup final after defeating Trinidad and Tobago's Soca Warriors 3-2 in a thrilling encounter. Nigeria, coached by Eric Chelle, earned their spot by edging past their eternal rivals, the Black Stars of Ghana, with a 2-1 victory.

This late addition to Jamaica's squad could strengthen their attacking options as they prepare to face a Nigerian side that has shown good form throughout the tournament.

The Unity Cup final represents an important test for both teams as they continue preparations for their respective continental competitions, with Jamaica focusing on the Gold Cup while Nigeria aims to build momentum for upcoming fixtures.

Nigerian fans will be hoping the Super Eagles can maintain their winning momentum following their victory against Ghana and lift the Unity Cup trophy on Saturday.
