Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye has officially departed Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) giants Enyimba International FC following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

The 36-year-old veteran striker, who joined the Aba-based club for a short spell, announced his exit through an emotional farewell message shared on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

During his brief stint with the People's Elephant, Ideye made a significant impact, netting four goals in ten league appearances, showcasing the experience and quality that made him a standout player for the national team in his prime.

In his farewell message, Ideye expressed gratitude to the club's leadership and supporters: "To the chairman, staff, my teammates, and fans of Enyimba FC, thank you for the wonderful journey. It's been an honour to wear the jersey and play for one of the biggest and best football clubs in Nigeria and Africa."

The forward, who has had an illustrious career playing for clubs across Europe, added: "As I move on, I'm grateful for the fond memories we created together on and off the pitch, and I appreciate the love, respect and support you all gave me from day one. This club will always have a great place in my heart."

Ideye's departure marks the end of a short but impactful chapter with one of Nigeria's most successful football clubs. The former West Bromwich Albion and Olympiacos striker brought valuable experience to the Enyimba squad during his time in Aba.

While neither the club nor the player has revealed details about his next move, Ideye's performance during this brief NPFL stint demonstrates he still has much to offer despite being in the latter stages of his career.

Enyimba FC, two-time CAF Champions League winners, will now look to rebuild their attacking options ahead of the 2025-26 NPFL season as they aim to challenge for domestic honors.
