The Confederation of African Football (CAF) in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has officially announced the match venues for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament scheduled to take place in Morocco.

In a historic development for the biennial competition, six venues will be utilized for the first time. The selected stadiums include the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, Larbi Zaouli Stadium and Père Jégo Stadium both in Casablanca, El Bachir Stadium in Mohammédia, Honor Stadium in Oujda, and Berkane Stadium in Berkane.

Morocco will host the WAFCON 2024 finals from July 5 to July 26, 2025. This marks the second consecutive time the North African nation is hosting the prestigious women's football tournament.

The previous edition of WAFCON was also held in Morocco, where South Africa emerged as champions. The Banyana Banyana will be looking to defend their title in the upcoming tournament.

Nigeria's Super Falcons, nine-time champions of the competition, have been drawn in Group B alongside Botswana, Tunisia, and Algeria. The Nigerian team will be aiming to reclaim the continental crown after missing out in the last edition.

As part of their preparations for the tournament, reports indicate that the Super Falcons will face Portugal in a pre-WAFCON friendly match, although details of this fixture are yet to be fully confirmed.

The expanded use of six venues for the tournament reflects CAF's commitment to growing women's football across the continent and providing improved infrastructure for the competition.

Football enthusiasts across Nigeria and Africa will be eagerly anticipating the tournament as the continent's best female footballers showcase their talents on the Moroccan stage.
