Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has made a passionate appeal to Nigerians to rally behind the national team as they prepare to face Ghana in the Unity Cup on Wednesday in London.

The highly anticipated match will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, United Kingdom, with Nigeria looking to perform well against their West African rivals.

Speaking to the Super Eagles media team in London, Musa acknowledged the disappointment many Nigerians feel toward the team but emphasized the importance of continued support.

"We know that a lot of Nigerians are, I would say, very disappointed in the Super Eagles," Musa stated. "But I will always call on them to just keep on supporting us because that is what we need right now. Their support will have a very big impact on us."

The 32-year-old forward, who currently plays for Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), is making a return to the national team after an extended absence. His inclusion in Eric Chelle's squad marks a significant comeback for the experienced player.

Expressing his enthusiasm about the call-up, the former Leicester City star added, "For me, I am always happy whenever I get a call-up."

The Unity Cup fixture against Ghana represents an important opportunity for the Super Eagles to rebuild confidence and strengthen team cohesion under coach Eric Chelle's guidance. The match is part of Nigeria's preparation as they aim to defend their Unity Cup trophy against competitors including Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Reports indicate that 20 players have already arrived at the Super Eagles' London camp, with the team having completed their first training session in preparation for Wednesday's clash.
