Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has acknowledged that Nigerian football supporters are deeply disappointed with the national team's recent performances.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's Unity Cup match against Ghana at the Gtech Community Stadium in London, Musa candidly addressed the team's awareness of public sentiment.

"We know that a lot of Nigerians are, I would say, very disappointed in the Super Eagles," Musa told the Super Eagles media team in London.

Despite acknowledging the disappointment, the 32-year-old Kano Pillars forward appealed to supporters to continue backing the team, emphasizing that their support would significantly impact the team's performance.

Musa, who has returned to the national team after an extended absence, expressed his gratitude for being recalled to represent Nigeria. The veteran player also commended the Super Eagles coach for taking time to scout talent from the Nigerian Professional League.

The Unity Cup fixture against Ghana presents an opportunity for the coaching staff to introduce new players to the squad and assess their capabilities at the international level.

Ghana's coach Addo has reportedly stated that the match will not be treated as a friendly, suggesting a competitive encounter between the two West African rivals.

The Unity Cup match between Nigeria and Ghana is scheduled to take place on Wednesday at the Gtech Community Stadium in London.
